What is Gap delete and how do I use it?

Updated over a month ago

Gap Delete removes empty space in your timeline so clips automatically snap together. Instead of manually dragging clips, you can delete gaps with a single click.

Async Creator offers two types of Gap Delete: clip-level and segment-level.

Clip-level Gap Delete (single track)

Removes empty space on one track only. Clips on that track shift left to close the gap.

How to use it:

  1. Hover over an empty space between clips on a track.

  2. Click the trash icon that appears.

Segment-level Gap Delete (entire timeline)

Removes empty space across all unlocked tracks at once, keeping all clips perfectly in sync. A segment gap exists only if all tracks are empty at the same time.

How to use it:

  1. Hover over an empty segment in the timeline.

  2. When the vertical highlight appears, click the trash icon.
