How to adjust opacity in the video editor?

You can change the opacity of a video in the video editor to make it more transparent or create a softer layered look in your project.

How to adjust opacity for a full video

  1. Open your project in the video editor.

  2. Select the video you want to adjust.

  3. From the menu on the right side, click Basic.

  4. Find the Opacity setting.

  5. Adjust the opacity to your preferred level.

This will apply the opacity change to the entire video clip.

How to fade a video in or out

If you want the video to gradually appear or disappear, you can adjust the opacity directly on the clip.

  1. Select the video in your timeline.

  2. Drag the corners of the video clip to create a fade effect.

  3. Adjust as needed to control how quickly the video fades in or out.

Important to know

Changing opacity only affects the video, not the audio.
