What is Cinematic Blur and how do I use it?

Updated over a week ago

Cinematic Blur is a visual effect within the video editor’s AI Assistant that enhances videos by softly blurring the background while keeping the subject in sharp focus. This creates a depth-of-field effect, where the foreground subject stands out against a subtly blurred backdrop, helping to direct the viewer’s attention to key subjects.

To apply Cinematic Blur to a video project:

  1. Open the video project you want to edit.

  2. Select the video track, where a toolbar will appear on the far right side of the screen.

  3. Select AI Enhance, toggle on Cinematic Blur, and click Apply enhancements

  4. Alternatively, click the AI Assistant (star icon in the top-right corner) and select Cinematic Blur from the menu.

💥Tips & Tricks💥

  • You can apply multiple AI Enhance tools at once by toggling all tools and selecting Apply Enhancements.

  • Depending on the length of your video, it may take a few moments for the effect(s) to apply. Keep the browser tab open and do not navigate away from the page to avoid lost edits.
